How underfloor hydronic heating works
Pipes are layed under floor and connected to a heat source. This can be a wood stove, gas boiler, solar panel, air or ground source heat pump or a mixture of these.
It is suitable to go under wood, tile and carpet floors, as well as concrete. Underfloor heating can be timed and thermostatically controlled, as well as zone controlled.
Why hydronic underfloor heating?
Unlike ducted and reverse cycle heating that blows dust around the house along with the heat, under floor heating radiates up without the dust particles being blown around making it a good option for allergy and asthma suffers.
Under floor heating is also silent running unlike the warm air heater.
It has low running costs and is more efficient and comfortable form of heating.
